The only dating blog about men, women and marketing.
I read a lot of relationship articles giving advice to both men and women. Much of it as about as deep as Dr. Drew’s contribution to celebrity rehab. Still, it’s fun. So here’s your chance to “listen in” to what the other side is being told!
Relationship and dating advice for men
According to an article in Men’s Health Magazine, the older women get, the more frisky they become. So men, maybe it’s time to broaden your online dating search criteria to include ladies who are older than you. Betty White just keeps getting better, doesn’t she?
Relationship and dating advice for women
What are women being told? Women’s Health magazine offered up not one, not two, but 77 sex tips – all in a downloadable guide. Of course, to get through it all, you might have to put aside some time before bed…hummm…wonder if they thought that through? Their male equivalent, Men’s Health magazine, had an article with just ten sex tips (they don’t stay up all night poring over them, surprised?) – all collected over 2011 – and one was “choose a wider variety of porn”. Big help.
The survey about men that women need to know (and men need to know that women know it!)
Both genders can enjoy (or men can deny while women analyze it to death): Glamour’s survey of 1,000 men!
Online dating, the Agony Part 34
Some people are addicted to DWTS; others to Toddlers and Tiaras. I’m addicted to scanning online dating sites. Seriously, I find the craziest profiles. I came across this online dating profile on okCupid. One thing is sure – she really is a mystery.
I am mysterious (that’s what they say) and interesting. Men are always intrigued. Is she, isn’t she, does she, doesn’t she? Only I know! I am smart (INFP) (I hope that doesn’t scare you ). ..Ellegant and gorgous. I’m not going to write more ’cause no amount of words can discribe me….alas.
All-time favorite TV ad (this week)
Great ads seem effortless. Yet everything from conception to production is deliberate.Embrace Life (produced by Alexander Commercials) shows how a striking opener and a surprising twist can elicit a deep emotional reaction. By the way, a story is more descriptive than adjectives, which is why I write online dating profiles that are rich in anecdotes.
In more advertising news
I’m passing along a great article in The Telegraph about the influence of likeability in advertising. It’s what I constantly propose to my LinkedIn profile clients. Even in the dry environment of professional bios, you need to appeal to people through their emotions. In short, before you promote all your qualities, you need to make someone care. To do that, make them like you first.
Top tweet of the week
This was my most “liked” and retweeted. Feel free to retweet it further and let me know your next week’s favorite is. Here goes: Dear “Warning, bad grammer ahead” – not to be picky, but I think you mean bad spelling.
On a final note
I have fun writing tweets and blogs, but my real love is crafting online dating profiles – and I take each one seriously. Have a look at both the online dating profile samples, as well as my LinkedIn profiles samples and see for yourself. With 20+ years as an ad writer and marketing expert, I’m trained to get my clients noticed. Get started by completing the online personality quiz. It’s the first step to a great online dating profile. The second step is to hire me.
If you like what you’ve read, then I know you’ll like me tweets and Facebook page.
