Online dating. What to say when you’re not interested.

What’s the online dating etiquette when someone sends you an email or wink of interest but you’re not interested back? A lot of people just delete and move on. I really don’t suggest that. If someone had enough interest to contact you, it’s just basic courtesy to write back even if it’s with a polite “no thanks”. Seriously. Can you imagine how you’d feel if it was the other way around? My suggestion is to say a simple: “Thanks for contacting me but I don’t think we’re enough of a match”.  Then end it with a kind “all the best in your search.”  It’s hard to reach out to a stranger and it’s tough to face rejection so be kind and respond graciously.
