How much do you pay to be date-worthy?

I heard a radio show recently asserting that, every month, single men and women spend between $100 to a full $1000 on dates, as well as everything to do with dating from buying the perfect fitting shirt to getting the hopeful bikini wax. I don’t know how accurate the stat is but I do believe that singles spend a fair bit of their change and time on looking attractive. Yet they’ll join a dating site and spend little time and money on their photos and online dating profiles.

My suggestion is that you be honest with yourself – how serious are you about finding love? If you really do want to meet a friend for life then you may need to put more value in the search for it.

Take the time to get a few good photos. Use a good camera, find great light, get a friend to help you relax then click away. Take photos on different days, in different settings, and with you dressed a little differently in each one.  Also, spend real time and effort on your profile. Make it unique. There are tips all over this site that provide profile help, including the questionnaire. Or spend the $80 and have me do your dating profile.

Seriously consider the importance of what you want and weigh it against the investment you’re willing to make. I’ve heard so many people lament that they can’t meet anyone yet I don’t think they don’t realize how little time, effort or/and money they’re actually investing in their search. There’s no shame in wanting love. It’s the most wonderful reward. Conversely, there’s no shame in making a real effort to find it.
