Once again I’m featuring an excerpt from an online dating profile that I randomly chose from one of the online dating sites catering to NYC singles.
Following the excerpt (modified slightly for anonymity) is a critique, which can help you write a better online dating profile. Every time I write a critique, it provides you with an insight that’s based on my work as online dating profile writer, as well as my years of experience working as a copywriter and marketing expert. Feel free to check out my bio and my online dating profile samples.
The following excerpt is from the online dating profile of a 42-year old female.
Ok so here goes looking for the impossible , meaning someone who is true. Too many liars and phonies and game players, not looking or those , now stay with me the impossible would be someone cute naturally , taller, sweet, caring, loving, compassionate, fun, funny, silly, smart, romantic, knows how to communicate, someone whom i can feel comfortable with can trust…… see “The Impossible”
My critique
Well, talk about cynical, negative and insulting to men, not to mention completely unaccountable for her choices. If all you meet are liars and game players, and if you’ve reached so serious a point of cynicism, then it’s not that good men are hard to find, it’s that you’re not picking them. I suggest that you be accountable for your choices and recognize that you have the power to change them. Once you do that, your perspective of men will become more positive and your expectations will be more wholesome.
