I’m beginning to think that online dating profiles with “I love to laugh” or “looking for someone who loves to laugh” are a bigger pet peeve of mine than emoticons and “lol” put together.
First of all, “loves to laugh” is on innumerable dating profiles. So why say something on your online dating profile that everyone else says on theirs? Instead, do what good advertisers do, check out your competition then find a way to be different and better.
More importantly, why copy something so trite? Who doesn’t like to laugh?
Unless you crack up during a medical exam you, like most people, love to laugh. In addition, there’s a good chance, you won’t have a hard time finding someone who loves to laugh too. In fact, scan a few profiles on a dating site and you’ll probably find that, no only do people love to laugh, countless ones “lol”. Yet another reason to have your online dating profile written by a professional.
