Every so often I’m contacted by my friend, Bing, in England who represents a number of online dating sites in the UK. Given that I have clients on that side of the world too, Bing occasionally sends along articles of interest to them – like this one from Emma Walters at freeukdatingsite.com.
If you are taking the first step in attempting online dating, it probably seems rather daunting. What website do you sign up to? Is the site good quality? How much will subscription cost? The latter question is the one that puts off many prospective online daters; it certainly has put me off in the past! Why should I have to pay to find love? I thought love was for free!
When you type into Google search “Online Dating Websites”, what comes up first? Sites that you have to pay a subscription for! Don’t be fooled by phrases such as “start dating for free with…”. This is very misleading. These sites allow you to register without initially asking for credit card details and give you the opportunity to have a look at a few members. However, you cannot contact them. For that you need a subscription. If you have just spent hours creating a fantastic profile, you may be swayed into joining with them. But don’t part with your money just yet. Copy your profile into a word document and save it for later, for there is another option. Free dating sites!
OK, perhaps the idea of free is off putting. You may think that those who pay a premium for dating websites are more serious than those on a free site or that the quality of members on a free site isn’t as good as those on a subscription site. This just isn’t true! With everyone doing what they can to save their hard-earned cash at the moment, free websites have equally as serious, quality online daters. And the other pro to using these free sites is that they have large membership bases, so more choice for you!
With a free dating site, not only can you register for free and contact potential partners for free, you can also use the forums for free. This gives you the chance to engage with other members and allow you to determine if the people on this site are worth getting to know. If you aren’t happy, you can disable your account and try other free sites to see what fits. Sounds better than wasting money on one site that you may be tied to for several months!
Of course with using any dating website, be it free or subscription, you still have to be safe and use common sense. Always keep personal information private. If you plan to meet up with someone, do this away from your home and inform family and friends about where you are going or even better, have them nearby. And be aware of scams. On both free and subscription sites, there may be people asking for money. Do not fall for their charms or pleas, never give away money!
Usingfree dating websites is an excellent way to meet new people, especially if you struggle to find the time and confidence to physically go out and mingle. So be safe, be courteous, have fun and you could find that true love actually does comes for free!
